Home Non-League Sunday League Youth League

WHO WE ARE

51-year-old Laurence Hughes is the sole proprietor of Hughes Video Services, having formed the Company in 1990 after a number of years working for W.H.Smith in the retail industry.
The initial intention was for Hughes Video Services to cover a multitude of amateur sporting events, together with all the 'usual' video services such as weddings, corporate productions, cine to video transfers, bulk duplications and so on, but having been involved in Non-League Football since the age of 17 when he became Secretary of mens' Sunday League side Edmonton Rovers, Laurence Hughes soon realised that he had enough contacts within the game to concentrate solely on the filming of amateur and semi-professional football matches and leave the other video services to other Companies.
This has allowed us to give an almost unrivalled service to Non-League, Sunday League & Youth League football clubs in London and surrounding counties (i.e. Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Essex, Kent & Surrey) over the last 20 years, particularly in the filming of Cup Finals which is our real speciality.
Laurence Hughes first learnt how to film amateur football matches in the mid-1980's by practising on his own team Edmonton Rovers' games and he then regularly filmed Enfield F.C. in their Ryman League Premier Division days throughout most of the 1990's. This involved the filming of virtually every match home and away, but when Enfield's Southbury Road stadium was demolished in 1999 and the club eventually split into two with Enfield Town F.C. being formed by the supporters, sadly it was no longer financially viable to film them on a regular basis.
Since the late 1990's, a number of high-profile Non-League clubs have had their matches covered by Hughes Video Services, and Laurence Hughes now currently films all Home games for Blue Square Premier (Football Conference) League sides Ebbsfleet United (formerly Gravesend & Northfleet) and Grays Athletic.

All recorded footage is edited and produced by Laurence Hughes himself, who is helped in the filming of matches by freelance cameramen who have been fully trained in the specialised art of filming football, something which is not always the case with other professional video companies. The freelance cameramen we use on a regular basis are as follows:
Andy Eggleton is based in Hampton, Middlesex and like Laurence Hughes, has been filming Non-League football matches since the early 1990's. He has filmed on a regular basis for the likes of Woking, Kingstonian, Chertsey Town, Molesey, Carshalton Athletic, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Walton & Hersham and Maidenhead United amongst others. Andy has an extensive back catalogue of videos available featuring these clubs and he can be contacted on 020 8287 6784 or by e-mail at andrewjeggleton@hotmail.com if you are interested in purchasing any of these.
David Richardson is based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire and currently films all Home matches for Blue Square Premier League side Stevenage Borough, although copies of their matches on video or DVD can only be purchased via the Club Shop. David has been filming football matches for a number of years and previously worked for T.S.N., the company who supply cameramen for Football League matches. David runs his own video company which also covers weddings, social and schools events. You can contact David on 07966 715598 or by e-mail at production@drwr.org.uk .
Mick Anthony is based in Edmonton and has several contacts in Women's football, of which he films a number of games throughout the course of a season. Mick is also an expert in the editing and production of footage and also runs his own company as a full-time sound engineer.
Neil Brimson is based in Enfield, Middlesex and is one of our younger freelance cameramen. He has been involved as a cameraman on numerous children's programmes in his full-time job working for the B.B.C. and his particular expertise is in filming Youth Cup finals for us. Neil has also recently started up his own Company to film weddings and social events and he can be contacted on 07951 805530 if you require that line of work.
Charles Kemp is based in Colchester and is A.F.C. Wimbledon's Club Cameraman. He has also filmed for Sutton United and many other clubs and has been filming football matches professionally since the late-80's.
We also have several other freelance cameramen who are available to cover matches for us when we are very busy during the Cup Final 'season' and we can now more or less guarantee a 100% coverage and do not often have to turn any games down.

Hello Laurence. I'd like to thank you for the excellent job you did of the London Senior Cup Final videoing. Everyone was especially grateful that you filmed the presentation ceremony at the end. Having sold out of the videos and DVD's I've had a couple of further enquiries for them.
Bill Azzi, Dulwich Hamlet F.C.

Laurence, just to let you know that we are more than pleased with your production. It is excellent to be able to watch the game time and time again especially with the replays. I would recommend that any team involved in such an event should have it filmed and would not hesitate to recommend you. Once again thanks very much, hopefully we will be in position to use your services again.
Colin Halcomb, Abbots Youth F.C.

Dear Laurence, last night my family and I sat and watched the DVD you so kindly recorded for us all at the Abbots v. Goffs Oak final some weeks back. What can I say - it is magnificent. The presentation of the cover and the fantastic editing is superb and we can't thank you enough for providing us with a wonderful memory of the event that we will cherish. Thanks again - it still brought tears to our eyes!!  What a super match - a credit to both teams. Jo Johnson (Mum of Matthew - our goalie)

Just want to say thanks for capturing our special day (after 18 years of waiting for a County Cup Final win) on Sunday. The lads are well impressed with your coverage and replays of all the significant moments. Very professional and also quick at getting the DVD's back to us. Hopefully it won't be another 18 years before we're calling you again.
Bobby Kavanagh, North London Olympians (N.L.O.) F.C.

Hi Laurence. I have received both sets of DVD's. I am delighted with the finished product, which is very slick indeed. Thanks ever so much for doing the matches for us. When I can't run anymore I'll have something to put on!
